Upgrades/Adding OEM packages?
Are any of the OEM packages easy to add on to the C-Class? I've read keyless go is a cost prohibitive. But how about any other packages, Dynamic Drive, ILS, etc. I'd be thrilled to get keyless go and ILS, those should be standard on a Benz anyway. Something about the halogens just look out of place on this car.
What would be an easy or cost effective swap out from a junked or parted out car?
I know doing these at a dealer would be a no go but the independent shops or DIY with sourced used or new parts should be a little more reasonable.
This car really needs to come with a curb/parking bumper warning system or camera, lol. Seriously though, any manufacturer making a car that rides this low should add that as a matter of common decency.
Do any of the German shops have the system? I recall reading on one's website that they have all the same equipment as the dealerships. Even then I guess it becomes a matter of knowledge.
My plan was to watch for junk yards and part outs. Part of the fun is the challenge.

On the 2013, I retrofitted lane keeping assist, blind sport assist, power folding rear view mirrors, ILS, and Illuminated Star. Thousands of dollars and hours of labor to complete these projects.
For example...to retrofit my halogen lights to ILS requires new wiring harnesses, control modules, levelers, multifunction camera, new front windshield, in addition to the ILS assemblies. Coding needs to be imputed into the car's VEDOC and then the car needs to be programmed at the dealership.

FYI - I am talking about static lines not the moving ones with steering.

I guess the car is lacking whatever angle sensors may be needed. According the the owners manual for Comand the wheel angle displays on the compass view. In my car this seems to be absent. Perhaps ILS would add this? But if so would it enable camera guides?
