Air recirculate button

I have noticed that when the AC is OFF and only the ventilation is ON, the air recirculate buttom will automatically switch off after driving for 10 minutes.
Is this normal?
It function normally when the AC is ON though.

Never noticed this, myself, although I actually have yet to activate that button anyway (only had my car for 6 months). In 'recirculate' mode, the AC system closes the outside air intakes and literally recirculates the air inside the cabin. This can make cooling the car easier on hot days, and warming easier on cold days. In any case, it makes sense to me that the car would not 'want' recirculated air while on vent, as that would defeat the purpose.
