I do like car tv shows and movies but I do not modify my vehicle to copy anything. I do it to see how much I can squeeze out of the vehicle and at the same time making my car different than every other MB driving down the road. That's the fun about doing mods is that if done right it can enhance you cars and give you a unique feel. I don't do it for some cheesy ricer look. .

eco mode
As a new member of about a month I was so pleased to read how to disable this feature. It was the first thing I did after starting the car and putting on my seat belt. For some reason I just couldn't stand it. Excellent pictures to walk you through removing the fuse. So, after a month of daily driving I have had no problems. I've owned several nice cars and have to say, this car is fantastic. Although, I was surprised it wasn't available from the factory with a heated steering wheel. Is that correct? I also have a question on how to post a picture of my car on this forum. I'm not sure sure how to get the picture from the desktop to an attachment. Appreciate any help with this.

Back on topic, I am going to have to try this as I hate the eco feature and it's the first button I hit when I get in my car.

i am one of us who hates this feature (or the fact that you can't default it to off).. i'm going to not only take this fuse out. i'm going to take it out and mutilate it. hit it with a hammer, drop it in some acid... maybe toss it in the microwave for 15 minutes or so.

Perhaps this sort of performance has affected my regard for fuel numbers.
My small MB coupe has calc'ed just under 35 MPG during a round trip of 425 miles to and from Monterey....................
I was pleased.

it works!
remove the fuse (or unplug the connector) do the job!
This cable / fuse is the recharge line.
so removing it the ecu think: no recharge current = risk to kill the battery, so better disble start and stop function.
of course in this way the battery will discherge by itself and in the long term probably will die..
but in the long term everybody die. isn't it?
I will use for some more time and let you know in case of problem.

Disconnect the sensor attached to the black negative rail battery terminal on the main battery under the hood, no EML lights on dash, stop start never turns green, everything works other than brake hold, both batteries get charged, alternator charges between 13.8 and 14.2 volts (no overcharge), check charge rate with Ebay meter pluged into cig lighter. If not happy plug sensor back in, enjoy.
