US side markers in the UK?

US side markers in the UK?
Good morning all,
I've been keeping an eye on this forum since I owned my car in '14 and thought it was time I got myself on here.
I will be posting a thread up a little later for those who are interested.
Basically....
I'm looking into if it's possible to run US markers over here in the UK and how 'easy' it is to do this.
A friend at Mercedes has told me that the software diagnostics wont allow me to leave the indicators on so will have to make a customize my current bumper if I can't get one from the states.
I'm obviously going to be without the light cluster which you guys have over there.
You guys have any insight?
