Took my W204 for a service A, dealer call me to telling me that the flap on the intake manifold has a small crack and is a very common issue and they recommend to replaced the intake manifold, parts $2200.00 has anybody had this issue?
Did they mention which "flap"? If it's the swirl flap actuator/arm, there are kits available with a small number of replacement parts so you don't need to replace the entire manifold. If you can get more details on which it is, and it ends up being the swirl flap actuator/arms, you can likely get an independent mechanic to order the kit and do the repair for far less than $2200k. If it's the intake variable length flaps, you're unfortunately SOL and need to replace the manifold..
Funkwagen, I just pick up the car from the dealer, I'm disappointed with the service writer, he was not able to explain the problem all he said is the throttle body flap and it may brake causing engine damage, as far I know that flap is made of aluminum or I may be wrong but to get to inspect that flap you need to remove the MAF sensor and the elbow, tomorrow I will be calling service for a better explanation, I will keep you posted.

Well now I'm not sure what to think, the throttle body flap/actuator is a completely separate part (and part number that I'm pretty sure is significantly cheaper) that bolts onto the manifold. If that's the case, I'm wondering if the dealer wants to replace both the throttle body AND the entire manifold for no good reason. I think you should ask to speak to the service technician to get the full details, the advisor doesn't seem useful at all.
EDIT: I wondered if the cost was for the throttle actuator + possibly requiring the removal of the intake manifold to replace the old one, but according to WIS the replacement of the throttle actuator does not necessitate the removal of the intake manifold at all. So I'm still not sure what they're on about..

I have a very good condition 3.0L intake manifold for sale
sdenney89 here, I'm a master mechanic and just replace my intake manifold on my W204 c class merc I have an excellent condition intake manifold that I took out of my car due to a faulty left rear tumble flap micro switch directly in the back and this sensor is not available anywhere.i just replace w/ factory replacement unit upon very close inspection of my original factory unit it is in remarkably perfect running condition minus one left faulty micro switch sensor in the back, Once you bench my unit the left rear sensor has to be swapped out w/your sensor, just one T30 torqs bit holding in place, buy with confidence this is a very capable unit and am available to walk anyone thru any and every obstacle in the replacement phase. $300.00 buys this intake manifold
