M272 2.5L Bolt On Power Achievable?
Hi all.
How much additional power (base approximation) can one expect from the M272 2.5L V6 (205HP stock)with the following mods?
No dyno available, therefore the query...
1) Equal Length Free Flow Headers
2) Magnaflow X Pipe - No resonator/secondary "cats". Stock mufflers
3) K&N Conical Air filters
4) Larger Throttle body (don't really know what it came off)
5) Eurocharged Tune
6) Kleeman SuperSports Camshafts from the 3.5 M272
7) Better Spark plugs

I'm not even going to guess but not much. The M272 2.5 is a sweet little engine much like the M112 2.6l was before it. It's volumetric efficiency is good standard but the unit is limited by it's valve sizes. The expense of what you suggest & port polishing etc is not worth it. It is happy being revved & you need to rev it to achieve acceptable performance. It is never going to have stump pulling torque. I would leave well alone. It is pretty much optimised. Blowing it is the only way to get meaningful gain & really expensive as you need to reduce compression ratio, up injector sizes, remap the ECU etc. Far easier & less expensive to buy a larger capacity unit or an AMG model.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
Actually, the above mods are ALREADY on the car. LOL.
Unfortunately, we don't have the option or luxury of upgrading to an AMG (stratospheric prices + 200% duty...C63 for $225,000, etc.) or a larger engine (illegal to import)..
