Comand problem??

So I have an 08 C-350 Sport. Had it for about 3 months now. Problem just started. The Comand system isn't working properly. Radio unit doesn't automatically shut off when car is turned off and key removed. Radio controls on the steering wheel won't work. And Bluetooth does not connect to any device. Then Comand with say to start car or it will shut off, while the car is running/driving. I'm new to the Mercedes world, so all the help I can get is appreciated.

I've seen a couple similar posts to this in the past. The Comand HU wants to be on with the car off and off when the car is on. Also, wheel buttons don't work.

I forget what the resolution was if even posted. Unfortunately, I would guess it to be a new HU.

I pray to god it's not that. Too much money. T.T But looking further into it a bit, I noticed that it is behind an update. Could this potentially cause this issue?

It presumably worked for 8 years thus far without that one update. As far as I know and as long as you are not attempting to update maps with a version that requires a system update (example because it has new mapping features), I doubt it would get screwed up.

But I have been wrong before so by all means, follow your hunch. The other issue I see with you trying to see if an update will resolve the issue is that the only place you'd readily find an update is at the dealer. (And if memory serves me correctly, they ill charge you a hour to even check and see if one is needed).

Have you tried resetting it. If you have a Fuse Chart (I've attached the W204 Fuse Chart below), look through it and see which fuse that circuit runs through. Pull the fuse for about a minute (during which you should say a prayer), replace fuse and restart COMAND...

Good luck!

Having the dealer work on Comand issues seems to be an effort not unlike that of NASA scientists remotely reprogramming a probe deep in space. At least that's how the dealer acts.
