2009 C230 LCD monitor conversion?
HI Guys,
New member and first time poster. I just became a first time Mercedes owner last week. I bought a 2009 C230 4Matic with 27,000 km and I love it. Car is in perfect condition and I'm excited to be driving it for many years to come.
I've been browsing the forum for a few days now to get accustomed to it, so I apologize in advance for any potential noobie faux pas'.
I'm curious to know if it is possible or relatively easy to convert the in dash recessed monitor that came in my model to the flip up monitor that I know other C-Class W204's come stock with.
I currently have this dash set up:

and want to upgrade to this:

Is this something that I could get the dealership to do for me, or would they not be willing to do it? Any input or thoughts you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.
I'm definitely not the most mechanically inclined person, so I probably wouldn't be comfortable venturing down a DIY route, unless the conversion is PAINFULLY simple.
I appreciate the feedback. Cheers!

Odd, I've never seen that second option. I think there is an aftermarket option for that display type but I forget the details on it. Perhaps that is what is pictured there?
Dealerships tend to not like to do this kind of work and usually charge a fortune, as in some multiple of 1000. Some are more willing than others.

theres a guy in Toronto that does it but as you can see paying some random is expensive and there not OEM parts. the dealer is much more expensive due to labour cost and you need to buy all the parts from them. I know first hand because i've been calling for a retro fit for my 2012's.
BUT if your dead set on it call multiple dealers and get quotes, every dealer has different pricing.
