The possible reasons that cause EIS faulty.
My car recently won't start. Key can open the door and turn inside the keyhole.
I sent it to dealer shop and got diagnosis report of EIS faulty. They already
replace EIS with a new one but the car is still not starting. Now they are asking
me to pay more to get a new key. They are telling me that:" Your current key
is not working with the new EIS. It was not sending a signal. " which I felt very
suspicious since they should program EIS using workshop key to fit my key. I
was wondering what are all the possible reasons that could cause the EIS
faulty? Also if the key is not sending a signal, the problem should not come
from EIS right?

Out Of Control!!
I would tend to agree with you-----I would go back and strongly complain to the service manager----something is not correct and you are not being served.
All this assumes your story is correct!!

Steering lock/Key lock
I had the same symptoms. | noticed however if key is inserted you dont hear that woer sound, so myne turned out to be the steering lock, not the EIS, and its a fraction of the price. I did however needed to have the keys reprogrammed with proof of ownership etc.
Dont pay for incorrect diagnosis due to lack of knowledge by tech/dealer.
