CLIMATE CONTROL DASH UNIT INSTALL
Does anyone know if this is just straight plug & play or does it need to be programmed for sure? I was able to remove and install the bad unit back easily within half an hr. MB says its broken and need a replacement but wants to charge 1.5 hrs & mentioned the word programming. I doubt about that though. They took an old one & tried it om my car (2011 C350 Canadian 4matic sedan) & said the replacement worked & rad fan stopped running consistenly like a jet plane. So Im inclined to just buy the unit & install myself. Anyone out there who tried this before?

The AC controller is making the radiator fans run fast?
It's possible you may be good for a direct swap, especially if it's used, from the same region and matches your original options.
I've seen mention of people doing facelift style upgrades with these with extra features just not functioning.

I just did this and it worked nicely. You definitely need the same part number. In my case it was A2049009304. I was able to find on junk yard the unit even with the same HW and SW versions. It was just plug and play. The guy at Mercedes Recycling told me that only the part number matters. This solved my constantly running on high fan problem as well.
