Tire Issue...HELP!!!

Last August, I took my car to Town Fair Tire to get new tires as 3 out of the 4 were shot. I replaced all 4 of my Continentals with Bridgestone Potenza RE970 A/S. I was told these tires were great and I'd have no problems. My brother in law who has been in the auto body/repair scene his entire life said the Potenzas were good for my car. For the past literally 6 months my tire pressure light has come on at least every week or week and a half. I have brought my car to my brother in law or the nearest gas station to check for leaks thinking maybe I ran over a nail or something. Every single time my tires are checked I'm told "oh no, your tires are at the right PSI." Today the light came on again so I took it down and the rear tires were over inflated (42psi) and I think my rear tires are supposed to be at 35. I'm not sure, I'd have to go look. Anyway, the guy said the light will go off, just drive the car for a little. I drove the 15 minutes home, pulled into the parking garage and there goes the stupid light once again. All four of the sensors were replaced at the same time the tires were. What could possibly be the issue? I've never in my 11 years of driving have had this many issues with a set of tires.

Alright so first for PSI info, you can find it right at your driver side door.
If I am correct front's are 35 and rears are 41.

Either way this could be happening with punctured ties, or improperly mounted tires. Maybe the lip is not fully sealed, or maybe you have a dent on the inside of the rim that you can not see.

Pump all of them up, and measure each tire separately, and then check every day at the same time to see how much PSI to drop.
Make sure you reset the flat tire light when you fill up.

Could be a bad TPMS. Be sure to reset the tire pressure monitor via the instrument cluster once you fill the tires. Also invest in a high quality tire pressure gauge.

Are you getting the dash light or a massage that says "correct pressure"? I got that when tire shop over inflated mine.

This may be a moot point... Do you live in an area with high temp swings?

... Considering summer and 42 PSI probably doesnt make a difference, just wondering.

As someone said - get a tire pressure guage - inflate tires to correct spec (on door) when cold - if light comes on - check cold
Pressure again - if it is ok - you have problem with one of the tpms sensors or the tpms computer itself. Dealer might be able to tell you if there is an issue with one sensor - If one tire is loosing air then take it to tire shop and get
Them to fix it ...bridgestones are good tires

Sounds like you have a high pressure. Everything you drive, temperature goes up, pressure goes up, and when the sensor reads +xx psi from default reading, the light comes on. You know, depends on tires and your location, tire pressure normally goes up 3 to 4 psi after normal driving. My conti pro contact goes up 5 to 6 psi after 30 mins of driving.

1. Check your tire pressure at cold temperature. They should read a reasonable psi like what the door sticker says. I like 35 psi all the way around.

2. Once you should you tires are good at cold temperature. you need to reset the TPMS. This will let the system reset the default pressure.

3. Make sure you did get the right TPMS model for this car. There are many fake TPMS sensor out there.

I took the car in.. Turns out the rear right tpms was shot and that rim is cracked! Woohoo...not. The guy who worked on my car at Town Fair Tire said there is a minor crack on the interior lip of one of my rims.. Can this be welded or am I better off getting a new rim?

Good u find the problem. I would get a new rim if u are not short of money. Often, the fixed rim will crack again. Although many ppl have good experience with cracked rims, it is up to u.
