h&r sport springs installation problem
I did the rear springs no problem.
I took the front left and removed it.
Trying to install the new spring is giving me a lot of hard time.
First I thought my spring compressors are bad an then rented a set.
I collapsed the spring to half the size of the original and I don't see how can I bolt the strut mount.
The top of the shock is far away and I can't pull upwards to extend more.
Am I missing something?
I also noticed the bottom of the strut has a plug which i had to disconnect to take it out.
Pics.
Thank you.
Is there a trick to extend the shock strut further out?
It seems like a do have dynamic handling package (no one told me about it) but springs can still be changed, what if one fails and you want new?
Must be a way.
No wonder my springs can't fit.
I tried pulling but this is the max I can pull out. Goes down all the way in no problem.
It's a Monroe a2073231300 part number on it.
Tried turning the plug on the side but no changes.
It almost like it needs to be told to extend all the way up.
I can't be the first one with this type of strut.
Thank you
I just never anticipated I have to compress the springs so much.
The spring compressors are until the end and if I go an additional ring for more space I can not align the spring properly.
One done one to go.
I hope this is worth it as it was such a pain to do.
So far as I dropped it to the ground I noticed maybe 1cm drop from before.
H&r claim 1.2" at the front which is 3cm.
