2012 W204. Does anyone find that their tranny lags a bit when shifting from Park to Drive or Reverse to Drive? I always find an annoying 1-2 second lag. Is this unique? Thanks

I have it too and I think this is to protect the transmission. Many people switch the gears while the car is still in motion and I think this helps the transmission.

I have not noticed much lag in my current or previous merc. A second or so lag seems normal.
My first car an 04 Acura TL got to the point where it was lagging a good 3-4 seconds and had major transmission failures.
