advice please for c200 kompressor
Hi
my 2008 merc c200 kompressor has just started miss firing badly on cylinder no.3 - the engine warning light is on I think it's the coil that has gone.
Would it damage the engine if I drive the car 20 miles to the local garage?

If it were my car I would flatbed it to the repair facility.
Consider the fuel being injected into the number three cylinder is not being burned. Instead it is washing down the cylinder walls. Thereby doing two things; removing piston ring to cylinder wall lubrication. and allowing fuel to contaminate engine oil. Both could have serous expensive deleterious effects on your engine.
If your assumption is correct, that the malfunction is a coil, repair should be quick and cheap with no harm done.
