Models, years and engine choicse
Hi guys,
I am new.
I've fallen in love with the W204 C300, been considering getting one for the wife to replace her bmw 328i and my winter beater mazda 3.
I want to know more and I am confused with all the various models, engine choices, etc...
I saw some tunes on youtube which go well over 240bhp with 4 cyl turbo engines if I am not mistaken, then there are v6 options (non turbo I'm assuming).
Even figuring out model/chassis differences was a bit confusing but then I realized it's W204 and W205 for the newer ones. I know the W205 are more turbo model choices but they are significantly more expensive than the W204.
I am in Canada and need to know reliability wise how they are and how tuneable they are. Which models are 4 cyl turbo and which aren't.

The W204 is the previous generation on the C class. The W205 is the new one. The 205 version is 4 cylinder turbo engines outside of AMG cars (both the C43 and C63 and it's variants). The W204 300 and 350 models were 6 cylinder cars though there was an engine change in the middle of the run. The 200 and 250 cars were 4 cylinder and in some markets were available as diesel engines. If you want to start with a solid platform I would go 300 or 350. My wife has an 11 C300 sedan and I have a 15 C350 coupe (they made the W204 coupe for 2 years longer than the 204 sedan). My engine is significantly more powerful than hers and it is absolutely noticeable. I believe hers is around 225 HP where is mine is just north of 300HP.
