IMPRESSIVE (AND UNEXPECTED) FUEL ECONOMY

Following an 1800 mile round trip Rocklin (CA) to Scottsdale (AZ):

35.1. Pencil and paper........the car's computer readout was a tad lower.

We were quite surprised (and - of course - pleased).

My C350 has always come in over 28 mpg - on paper. The computer has listed as high of 32 mpg. I'm a big user of cruise control. I've only put on 3k miles, but I've found that mid and high grade gas make no difference in my mileage or performance that I can tell.

Nice!

I've gotten 29 on mine on my daily commute, now that winter is here its been all time low. Also I haven't driven my car in a while. With the tune that I have it could probably push 30/31 which would be cool.

If you want another time bomb lol. I have the same 7G 722.9 and I drive it so hard with the paddles I am surprised it hasn't blown up. I kind of wish it just died right now since I have warranty so I can get a re manufactured one that is fixed.

My 2013 C300 4Matic is averaging 28.5 mpg with 80% highway/20% city.

During the warmer months, I can easily get 31 - 32 mpg if I keep it under 65 mph on the highway.

My C350 gets 23-24.. it can get 30-31 on the highway, but it doesn't come anywhere close to 28mpg average overall.

Maybe having transmission learning mode disabled actually does make a big difference.

If it has plans to die hopefully its under warranty. But your odds are a bit better than mine. Well, actually I have no odds as I already have it

Thanks for the kind words............

(my pencil and paper skills are way astern of my fuel economy ability - - - the actual calc'd MPG was 36.4).

A four cylinder with a turbo. Works for this sailor.
