Independent Benz Shops in New York

Just did a service B (80,000mi) at the stealership and they recommended several things I get done for my 2009 C300.. Anyone know of a reliable/reputable independent mercedes mechanic in New York? Preferably Brooklyn or Queens but I don't mind driving around. I've always had my maintenance and checkups done at the dealer for the peace of mind but it's starting to make a dent in my wallet..

FYI, for a nominal charge, the stealership recommended:

1. Engine mounts replaced - am I supposed to get my transmission mounts replaced too?
2. Transmission flushed - what about my brake fluids?
3. Spark plugs replaced
4. Wheel alignment

Probably gonna need new rims and tires soon too...

If you don't mind going across the river, try http://www.bergenimports.com/

I took my C55 there for routine maintenance. Usually see some AMG/BMW M cars there for maint whenever I went.

I had a shop (not advertised as for european cars) install all four shock/struts, new strut mounts, along with 2 engine mounts and 1 tranny mount for
$450 in labor. I brought my own parts. The (4 wheel hunter/laser) alignment was $85 a few blocks from the shop and recommended by the mechanic. Car runs and tracks well.

His place is in Dyker Heights Brooklyn. King Motors 62/9th ave. They look like just an avg. shop but they work on plenty of foreign cars and for a low labor rate.

DO NOT think you need to go to a dealer, or indy specializing in MBs. you will just pay more for the same service. I''ve had my e46 at dealers, indys, and the ave joe shop. NO DIFFERENCE except the price.

Unless you have some serious issues like rebuilding a motor or something that actually requires a certain skill set and resource, avoid the dealer and indy. There rates are too high.
