First 3 years of our C300's life was in Sport. Helps I have one that didn't default back to C. Then I tried Comfort and kept it there. The torque on the M272 turned out to be enough for every day use.

Sport 100% except when I forgot to put gas and literally used fumes to run her to the next gas station. My car also has the S being retained everytime I turn off the engine.

I'm new. Is that the E/S on the console next to the shifter?

Since mine defaults to E, that's where I mostly drive it. The power from the M276 is more than enough.

Freeway on daily commute. It's a good thing that the 722.9 has 2 reverse gears.

Factory ordered 2012 MB C350 w/Dynamic Handling Package
Comfort 90% of the time. With the "Dynamic Handling Package" Sport mode rides too firm for daily driving. It's only used for special occasions.

Comfort since car always starts in it.
Sport when I'm going up hills etc.
No other reason to use sport for me because when I need speed or passing power, flooring it will downshift automatically and red lines anyway...
Comfort mode isn't even sluggish on the V6, so get up and go in town is adequate. Can't tell the difference really...except uphill driving at freeway speeds.

When I had a C230 with a I4, I used Sport always. With the 302hp V6 it is almost too aggressive in sport for just normal driving.

For the first month and a half that I've had my C350 coupe, I've left it in C mode for most of the time. I've found that throttle position is sufficient to determine how high the motor shifts and I haven't found a need to push it that hard.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for my car, all it does is adjust the shift rpm correct?

Starts off in 1st instead of 2nd gear and it does change shift points and responsiveness.

I'm pretty sure that in my 2014 c300, in addition to gear shift points, throttle response is also different in sport mode. It's especially noticeable after the last TCU software update. At least that's how it feels to me after the update.

Comfort pretty much always - like above the 3.0 has plenty of torque to where 2nd gear starts are a non-issue, not to mention the 7-spd will snap off a 2-1 downshift quite nicely if needed.

I have used Sport a few times but found it too jerky and 1st geared too low for low speed (traffic and parking garage) driving.

You may be right about that. Mine does feel differently, tried it this morning. It's almost too aggressive.

In 2014+ models Eco and Sport mode both start out in 1st gear no matter what.
