I installed a tow bar and installed wiring kit from Jaeger made for the W204, easy to install with instructions and excellent quality.
With the Jaeger kit it interfaces with the sam module at the r/h side of the trunk.
The kit # is 22040510j this is New Zealand specific due the trailer plug shape but is the same other than that.
Jaeger is the factory supplier to Mercedes tow bars it interfaces with reversing sensors and ABS for stability.
