New 2011 c250 owner - One major question re: ECU remaping
I just bought a w204 c250 cgi (1.8 turbo) with AMG package.
Wanting to know thoughts on a remap.
I have looked all over and read many threads but wanted to start another one anyway.
I'm just wanting to know thoughts on if this is really worth it or not?
I have read that my modael can really benefit from a remap. Thoughts guys?
I have an appointment with a tuning company this week. I'll see what they say.
I've heard Dinan is the one to go for but some people say it can damage your engine.
Confusing....

The unit they have is for a 2012+ c250,where as my one is a 2011.
If it works I just may try it.
Spoke to performance tuning company where I live and they will remap for $950 NZD.
Worried because they said they have done my model before but as Knightmare69 said, there is no official remap available....
Still confused.
So much info on here but not really on 2011 c250's.

if yours if the turbo model it will work. Dinan might have just missed the "cut off" date in terms of the actual year break.
I'll wait for the official response and grab one.
Wondering if I can get cheaper delivery. They charge $53 USD to send to NZ. Weird. It doesn't look heavy, wonder why the steep costs..
suggest they send it by us post service, its a very small box and im sure that would be much less!
It wasn't such mind blowing stuff, just confirming what I had already read about.
I may do it later on if I get bored with how it drives, but at this stage it stays stock (apart from a K&N I put in last week).
Also, I won't go into his credentials here but the guy knew what he was talking about.

It's interesting, and maybe obvious: Tuners like Burger and Dinan say the 1.8L has a mild tune and the engine can take - with out harm - an increase in boost. Yet, the stealership and euro techs (well one) with whom I've spoken claim it will shorten engine life.
The bottom line, for me, is I really don't find a real world performance deficit with stock HP and Torque (201/229).

I am am located in HK same with Knightmare69. Remapping is possible
I think as long as the torque does not exceeds 400nm which is the limitations of the gb, it should be ok?

Ahhh , the K&N...

I get bored with the car. So i am recondition; change rotor to ventilated, steebraided hose, timing chain and tensioners, walnut shell blast the intake and valves, change to a lighter wheels.
And ive ordered the catless downpipe with wrap (i know ceramic coat is better but at this stage, the car is a bit too old and downpipe isnt that expensive anyway), quad tailpipe with 60mm of full exhaust system with valvetronic on both mufflers, from tornado the charge pipe, intercooler, and redesigned intake hose. Armaspeed cold air intake too. Well i know this wont filter small particulates and worse than the K&N you posted, but lets see. Mid of next month will tweak the ecu to 2nd stage. Lets see whats the outcome.
Probly ill break the GB in a short while. Trying to keep torque below or exact 400nm.
I really want to know whats the outcome or experiences of ecu remap thou.
