Hi guys

When I get to ~68+ mph I hear a noise near the front, sounds like a growl. It plateaus and doesn't get any louder. What could this be? Its not the transmission noise/whine. Search, but all I can find is w203/early 204 but I'm not affected by what I've found.

Did this start recently or has it always been like this?

If it's a whiring noise the wheel bearing is a very good place to start, aside from worn tires or the trans issue

61k. Its not the trans cause I just rep'd it, not wheel bearing. Ideally it would be tires but theyre not that worn.

Replaced. I know the noise and this is not it.

You need to put it up on a lift and drive it while someone tries to locate it to find out then.

Yep headed to dealer in 2 hours to get my free blades, coincidentaly I decided to go for it at this timing lol. I'll let them know. I'm hoping its just something like "you plugged the intake tube backwards" or something lol. Will report back.

They said it was fine. Hm.

I'm not saying it the trans or anything, But what leads me to say that is the noise started after the repair and they are saying that they can't find anything. That makes me suspicious. not sure if you got someone else to look at it for a second opinion?

It was not a dealer repair; got it checked at dealer though and dealer could not find issue.

i have a 2011 c300 4matic has a cyclical growling sound at around 65MPH+, it does not go any faster, same noise speed no mather if im going 65 or 90.
When i get under 65 the noise goes away. Just got the car last year so i dont know if there was any transwork completed.
I know what a wheel bearing sounds like and this is not a bearing type of noise. It is only persistent at 65mph or higher too.

Car has new rotors and brakes, new tires, new tie-rod and upper control arm on right front and i completed the rear subframe fix before the warranty extend was made.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

edit: it was my rear tire wear, uneven

Thanks for the reply. My tires are brand new and the sound. does not seem to go with th tire rotation.
