Key stuck Need help Please
I have a 2008 c300 4matic, I was doing the front axle boots so I put the key in the ignition to unlock the steering wheel so I can move the wheel back and forth. Then they gave me the wrong boot and I had to let it sit for 3 days dissasembled. I pulled the battery out but I didnt remove the key from the ignition.. Today I pplug it back in and the key doesnt do anything and I cant remove it, I can only move it 2 turns right. Also the steering lock in unlocked now the car cant start with a key stuck.. How do I reset this ? The lock was working fine before this project.

I have a trickle charger on the battery at all times, I just pulled the ESL module, the motor works, and it looks like its been changed, someone has been in here and like I said it was working fine. I also got the key out of the ignition by removing the lock out tab on the ignition switch. Now im resetting my battery and praying, last night when I was pulling the ESL, I plugged the battery and the it tried to lock/unlock 3 times which was the first movement I got from it.

So luckly I found someone that does emulators for w204 for pretty cheap. One of the chips failed on it but luckly it was unlocked so very easy to remove, I recommend getting emulators on all mercedes because that ESL will fail,just a mather of time, it can fail mechanicly and electricly so dont wait till you get stuck, emulator is like 350$, if you are stuck somewhere, it will cost you a towing and around 1500 at mercedes + they will take about 2 weeks since they have to order special keys.
Anyways now that car is started, one issue over, now the trans looks like it has a leak from the front driveshaft.. Im going to bring it to the shop that rebuild my trans and make them pull it out for free, im done.

Nah not from the differential but from the transfer case side.. Its were the driveshaft goes into the transfer case, from what I see the hole trans has to be removed again, and disassembled again to get to that inner seal how fun, I should of just got the bearing pressed and reassembled the trans myself.

I'd like more info on an emulator please. Where do you buy them?
My 2008 is fine but I think the whole ESL is a ticking time bomb.

but remember, you will need to program it to the key. You can ship youre ignition switch/key and emulator, he will program them together (takes 10mins with expensive tools) and he ships them back to you.
