Mercedes Me Adapter
Hello all,
I have recently found out about the Mercedes Me Adapter and i am wondering exactly what it does. I have read from the Mercedes website and got a list of features. Then when i go to read from forums, like this one, people say not every feature is supported for adapter users.
The question i came here to ask is what does it really do and is it worth it?
Below i am posting what the official MB website/youtube says the adapter can do.
- Remote Retrieval of Vehicle Status
- Remote Door Locking and Unlocking
- Programming of Auxiliary Heating
- Geofencing
- Valet Protect
- Vehicle Tracker
- Parked Vehicle Locator
- Route Planning
- Programming of charging settings and Pre-Entry Climate Control
- Remote engine start/stop
- If not able to start tells you in english why the car did not start.
- fuel level
- total miles
- average speed
- shows tire pressure
- heat/air conditioning on and off
- window status
- brake fluid status
- brake lining status
- trunk status
- coolant status
- washing fluid status
- incase of break down you have the option of automatically sending a error report to your preferred dealer
- Remote active horn & lights
- Send2Benz
- Remotely send an address from your iPhone to your Mercedes via the Mercedes Me App
- Dealer Search
- App settings
- Possibly bluetooth?
- And more features unnamed (aka etc.)

Mercedes me function is very dependent on model and model year. It has best function on newer cars i.e. 2016 or newer.

Looks cool, and I would be willing to give it a shot, but looks like there is no support for the US market since it's not listed in the supported countries and the english is a little off...
I wonder how it actually works (connects to the internet), it' can't be just bluetooth because it would be out of sync when you leave the range, it must require some sort of data plan right? I found no mention of a monthly fee, but maybe the supported countries have some sort of open data channel for IoT devices???

I went to see my dealer and the parts counter guy don't know at all about Connect Me! After 10 min of recherche, he found the Connect Me Bluetooth OBDII adaptor unit, 130$ CAD, stock in Germany (2 weeks delivery), but can't tell me more about it!
Before to go forward, is somebody using Connect Me and can share his experience with?
Thanks,
