Staggered wheels

So...

Went to the dealer for my C300 sport (staggered wheels)

Anyways, long story short, he said I could use the 225 45 17 for all 4 corners and "stretch" them to fit the rear rims (originally 245 40 17).

Any downsides to this? It sounds great if I can do that b/c then I can rotate and all of that fun stuff.

Thanks

If you are fare dinkum about improving your ride & have the option to rotate why not bite the bullet & buy 5 off 16 inch rims & fit the 205 55 16 tyres ?.

There should be a few sets about with people upgrading.

If the wheels are staggered you won't be able to just rotate them. The rears are wider than the fronts. If you want to be able to rotate them buy wheels that are equal all around. I did this for example because I wanted to rotate them.

I went 19x8.5 +45 with 225/35/19 for all 4 wheels.

Understood. So even with 235 45 17 all around I still can't rotate? (due to the rim size difference?)

I know it's a stupid question. Apologies

Correct. Staggered means your wheels are different widths and has nothing to do with the tires. You would need equal size wheels to be able to rotate.
