W204 COMAND Control Knob Not Responsive
Hi folks.
I wanted to see if any of you other guys have encountered an unresponsive COMAND Control Knob that allows you to scroll through your menus.
The knob works when you single tap it in the direction you desire however it is unresponsive when you try to rotate the knob to scroll through selections.
The car is over 8 years old so I figure fatigue has caused it to fail.
Have any of you guys successfully fixed this knob?
Thanks.

I actually tried to remedy this problem over the weekend and it was unsuccessful. I purchased the $30 metal shaft on Amazon and reviewed the step-by-step instructions on the shaft replacement. It looked fairly elementary on paper but it turned out to be a 2+ hour affair in real life. The circuit board was exposed, a lot of wires were tugged too hard, and the clips didn't come on/off as easily as it was described on the instructions. Long story short, you're probably better off buying a new $300 COMAND control module than go through the entire disassembly/assembly process. DIY lesson learned.

If we can do it so can you just don't lose patience.

Its a simple and easy fix! There is also a diy video on youtube! Easy search!
What i did was glue (a superstrong glue - some kind of epoxy) the broken shafts. Then i even reenforced the sides with some plastic shaft glued!
Till today brand as new!!
5 € i spend!
