Broken headrest from repeated use

I believe I have a unique problem with my C-class, specifically the headrest on the driver seat. One of the nice features on the W204 is the tilting headrest. When I first got my car this was new to me. It was a real luxury to be able to tilt the headrest to your liking. Anyway I know this is a first world problem, but I think I have broken the tilting mechanism on the driver's seat headrest. This is probably from tilting it too hard and probably at the wrong angle. The point has this happened to anyone else and if so have you been able to fix, if it's even fixable?

Now when I try to tilt it, it goes back to its default position. That pic is not my car but the seat is exactly the same. I'm just posting that for a visual.

It almost looks like the Neck-pro system is partially engaged. Probably just undid one of the clips that holds it in place. You could probably push it back in with some force. This thread towards the end should help

i don't think its the neck pro system because the headrest is loose. I can basically hold it open on the right side because it is loose. The left side of the headrest is properly secured. I may have broken a plastic piece inside. Maybe these pics can tell the story better.

I was reading another thread from another user who said the dealer wanted to charge them $390. That is ludicrous money for a headrest. They're on ebay for about $150 for OEM.

My 2008 has a similar issue if not the same. I did not notice any gaps between my headrest but when you try and adjust it they fall back to default angle. I purchased mine a week ago and why driving home noticed passenger seat has be pivot motion instead of front to back and took it back as dealer said since it was day I purchased (granted it I used) and was told verbally would be fixed for free and my windshield trim was undone on the top and they said they would fix it all gotnit back today and now my passenger head rest which tilt worked fine is broken after they said it would be 1800 dollars to fix my seats motion and headrests when they broke the second one. After arguing with them they still refused and I have the Mercedes now and am very displeased with the dealer but love the car figured I would get oem parts myself over time and fix since they want to charge outrageous amounts. Any fix for your seats headrest discovered yet ? Sorry for long post
