I have question about rain sensor in W204 - does all cars have it in standard?

I decoded my VIN number in WIS, and I don't see rain option in the code. But my local mechanic told, that all C-class should have it.

So I connected Xentry, checked if there are faults on the sensor - none. On the "actual values" tab I have only light sensor.

I checked the windshield, and I see 4 sensors in the module. Also checked eBuy & stuff, and there are only one model (light + rain) for this car.

I heared, that on older MB models - they put only one model of sensor, but some options were disabled via Xentry. Is it the same in W204?

 

No, not all W204 have rain sensor. I've seen W204 without a rain sesor.

 

What year is your W204 and can you post your vin and a picture of your windshield.

They certainly don't here in the UK

 

Car is a c220cdi s204 German model avant-garde package. From picture appears you have washer sensor.

 

Don't know about other years or models but on 2010 4matic Sport models rain sensors were part of an options package and not a standard base feature. Some had it, some didn't.

 

My 2011 Sport model has Premium I package. Rain Sensing Wiper is one of the nine items in that package. I remember that rain sensing wiper is not a stand alone option that year model. I have no idea of other years.

 

Put your wipers on the intermittent setting (i or ii) and spray water on the sensor. The wipers should automatically come on after a few seconds.

 

Not working for me.

 

My Australian 2007 w204 has a wiper rain sensor.

 

Yesterday I've connected Xentry again - and my sensor have P/N: 2048704926
I've checked EPC (my car + other w204 model, that has rain sensor "out-of-box") and there are 2 different sensors: light sensor only, and light+rain sensor.

Light sensor models:
A 204 820 43 26
A 204 820 84 85
A 204 870 49 26
A 204 870 35 26

Light + rain sensors:
A 204 820 12 85
A 204 820 83 85
A 204 870 34 26
A 204 870 88 26
A 204 901 78 01

 

It appears you do not have the rain sensor.
