Tablet on w204 dash. Thoughts?

So I mounted this tablet today using a regular sticky suctioncup holder, it's a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 inch. I'm using Car Launcher, also bought an aux bluetooth adapter at Biltema. Works pretty good for streaming music. I got Maps, Waze, Spotify etc.

I just wanted to get some thoughts on this. I think the tablet might be a bit big, not that it's blocking the view or anything. But maybe a 7 inch would look better, and that would fit in the recessed area beneath the lid.

Anyway, what do you think? What would you have done?

Looks pretty good. The only concern I have is operating temperatures for the tablet. Those tablets aren't made to operate in extreme temperatures, and the interior of a car (especially dash area) gets very hot when parked on a sunny day. You will likely get a temperature warning and won't be able to use it until the tablet cools down. Also, the battery in the tablet will be ruined.

If you decide to make it permanent, I would suggest finding a way to wire it without cords running down the dash. Then it'll look OEM/permanent and deter people from breaking your window and stealing it.

Yeah, you're probably right. As it is now, I would remove it and hide it away inside the car somewhere when I leave it for longer periods.

I might get a ASUS ZenPad 7" or something like that, as it's smaller. I think that would look better. Then I could probably make a more OEM look mount for it.

I've had my 8inch tablet in my dash for almost a year now. Kinda second nature now. You will have to take it out when sunny. It will shut down and stop charging if it gets to hot. I have a after market Radio so it conecta bluetooth to it and I can control with steering wheel dials. I removed the old screen an replacing with a magnet mount. So tablet sticks to it.

It's the Att trec branded tablet. It was free with 2 year contract and $10 a month plan so it worked out perfect for this. I use Automate car front-end software.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but what did you use to mount the tablet?
