I burned a cd which is playable on my laptop, but the cd player in my Mercedes C 300 can't read it? Any suggestions?

As a music CD or data disk? Have you tried as just data?

When they replaced my HU the new one randomly does not read some disks. They can be new and perfect condition and not read. They can look like hell and read just fine. No logic to it really but most disks in my new HU don't work.

Yes, I could perhaps take it back but I don't want to have a loaner car for 6 months.
