Turbo Charging a Mercedes C300
Hey guys, i'm new to the community and I own a 2012 Mercedes C300 4matic. I like the naturally aspirated V6 but I always wonder, could I add a turbo to it. Do you guys think its possible?

only once in china
not worth it. doesnt make enough power to make it enough. buy a w204 c400 or something and tune it.
or just tune it in the first place.

Short of driving it like it's stolen, nothing.
I wish the car was faster, and I wish the car was bigger, but I accept my car as what it is...a car that gets me from A -> B comfortably.
Increasing the performance of a C300 is like the ricers who add NOS to a Caravan...

Oh come on, not even a smiley face?
Seriously though, (as in, serious question), why would anyone want to soup (is that the right spelling) up a freakin 4 door family sedan?
If I wanted a fast 4 door saloon car I would have bought a C63 AMG...
Or a S63 AMG but I'm not THAT rich and a poor boy can dream

Maybe OP just wants to increase the performance of the C300 from 228 hp to 300ish hp and torque from 221 lb/ft to at least 280+ lb/ft, making the C300 more in line with a sport sedan personality. The C300 (in stock form) is pretty slow, 0-60mph taking more than 7 seconds. It will cost a lot of money and also would put additional strain on the engine that may cause serious problems down the line.

Throwing a turbo in will kill reliability.

with the w204 C250 1.8T engine, the ECU has been finally cracked, and with a big intercooler, downpipe and ECU tune, you can get 300HP and 350FT/LB
i just ordered my down pipe, and i will get a tune in a month or so and will post it probaby.

"the right tool for the job" applies to cars. people making cars something they arent meant to be, is dumb.

wanna hear something funny? I try hard not to buy fast cars , cuz my driving record would go down the ****ter .. Or I'd go to jail....
I love driving hard, and if the car is on the slower side it's easier to push the car to the limit where as how many times do you think you could push a fast car without killing someone? and I don't think the 300 is that slow.
Like you said, "and a poor boy can dream". Thats the exact reason people modify their cars, they love the car but just want more without just dropping money for a faster car like any lazy/typical person can who has money. It's a hobby and is actually fun!
If my Benz wasn't on "family duty" I would have already been modifying it. Handling first, brakes second, power third, cosmetics last/here or there...

then just buy a sports sedan. rather than trying to turbo a car that is meant to go to the super market or pick up the kids from school. sounds like OP bought the wrong car. trade it and cut your losses.

The turbo 6 cylinder BMWs, The supercharged 6 cylinder audi's, the 3.7 liter or 3.0L turbo infinitis to name a few.

Honestly I came back and reflected on this post, and I'm probably going to do the thing most people do with these cars and its drive it, I might do a few cosmetic things, like get new rims, better tires, etc. But I'm probably going to save up for something else, since the non AMG w204 has little upgrade path

just swap a 6.2 in it, im waiting for my m272 to blow so i can put a m156 but that 3.0 is strong and I don't see an end in sight ,even with 240k on the clock. These aren't cars with a crazy aftermarket tuning available, at least you have a 3.5 in yours, a simple ecu tune will get it to 300hp, they just detuned the c350 3.5 in those years for the c300, they have the exact same engine with different software.

Ah my mistake, I see that 2012 is the Frankenstein, it has the facelift body and interior, yet still has the old 3.0L with 228hp , in 2013 the c300 got the 3.5 engine with 248hp, just a detuned version of the c350s engine which has 302hp, all in the software.
