Specks on windshield in bright conditions
Does anyone know a fix for this? I'm considering replacing the windshield it's that bad in bright conditions. Those damn little spots are getting to be to much I hope someone knows a fix for this.

I'm in the same boat, man. It's pitting in the windshield caused by all sorts of road debris and such hitting it over time. My windshield is horrible for it, can barely see through it in direct sunlight...
Haven't been successful polishing it out, they're too deep to polish. Eventual windshield replacement seems to be pretty much the only answer

windshield pitting
I had great success with Carpro Ceriglass using a 3 inch rayon buffing pads on my DA polisher. Available at Autogeek.net. My 1992 190E windshield was very pitted from time. It was dramatically improved. My C350 came out looking new.

Funkwagen is correct. They are not "specks" that you can wipe off, since they are tiny physical holes in the windshield.
As a temporary measure, you can probably find some "As seen on TV" products that might help, but keep in mind they are in the same category as "scratch removers".

Ya mine aren't super deep they look almost superficial minus a few of them but I just looked in my insurance policy and it should be covered free of charge.
I've looked at other forums and some people have said if you fix it early enough you can possible save the windshield.
I might stop at an auto glass shop tomorrow and see if they have any compounds for it.

My own experience with a Cerium Oxide product using an orbital sander and glass polishing pad was: It helped minor wiper scratches pretty nicely, cleaned the stink out of the glass with mineral water spots 100% gone, but was unfortunately less effective on the "sand sparkle" pitting issue. I had to scrub the windshield with solvent( isopropyl) to removed the dried compound from the pits which had become a myriad of off white specks.
In total, the glass looked better mostly because of the super cleaning it got.
The info out there says if you can catch your fingernail in the scratch or pit, it won't disappear with glass polish Still this type of product can't but help the more superficial defects.
I have glass coverage for all my vehicles and have taken advantage of that getting 2 of their windshields replaced

About my results: The rayon buffing pad is specifically for glass. I made at least 8 passes with the polisher on about 18 inch sections. I ran the polisher at high speed and used considerable downward pressure. Afterward, I washed the car. Took some time.

Well I went in they said only option is a new windshield $490 for an aftermarket one but I'd probably go OEM.
I only notice it in direct sun so I probably won't bother fixing it .

Where did you order from? I'd like to try this out when I'm at work with some polishers. Also, how many km are on your car now? My windshield has been getting progressively worse as the mileage increases. Not terribly, but there's definitely more pitting at 235,000km compared to when I got it at 74,000.. not sure what the previous owner did, but there was already a lot then.

Just wondering if there is something specific to the MB windshields that causes this. I had a 2007 C230 that this happened to and it's already started on my 2014 C300. I've had all kinds of cars (Volvo, Nissan, Chevrolet, Land Rover, etc.) and I never remember any of them having this same problem. I had a Tahoe that I owned for 19 years and the windshield was as clean when I sold it as when I bought it.

My only guess is that the Tahoe sits higher and may not be subject to the same speeds/conditions the Mercedes windshield goes through. My biggest takeaway is to not follow trucks, especially at high speeds, but considering where I live, I have to live with it (regardless of what car I'm in).

My 2005 CLK 320 with 177,000 kms has specks in the windshield as well and it's very apparent when facing the sun. I bought the car when it had 100,000, kms on it and it wasn't as bad, but mind you there's a lot of trucks on the highway where I live and sometimes they dont even cover their loads.
My front bumper is not as bad though as my cars that I drove in Canada which had lots of chips and bugs.

Glass Polish
I used a glass polish kit from Eastwood years ago on a car with the same issue. Took 2 runs, but looked like new when done.
I looked and wow the price has gone up ($45.00 for the kit.) i don't think I paid $20.00.

A day or two after I purchased my car a truck passed by me spraying a fine mist of something. I thought it was water as it looked like my windshield had gotten wet. However, it was pitting.
In Florida comprehensive coverage requires zero deductible windshield replacement and no penalty. So the glass shops get aggressive with repairs here.
On one service appointment there was a glass shop at the dealership doing evaluations. They said they could fix the pitting without needing to replace the window. After taking my insurance info they had completed the repair before my car left the service line and I could no longer see the pits.
I'm not sure what they did to fix the issue.
