I just got my passenger side airbag recall letter today. We sure are playing rock paper scissors with our airbags when we have a crash. Since my w204 insurance is time for renewal next week and I have other rides that is not affected by this stupid recall I am garaging my C300 for safety purposes until the parts are available. Call me a scared kid but 2 airbag recalls is not funny anymore even though it is not just MB who has the problem.

I'm a priority 5, between you guys in Sacramento (4) and NJ (6). That's interesting--as Tom notes the problem is when the AN absorbs moisture. That depends on both the humidity in the area and how much the temperature swing in the car makes the propellant container "breathe". I'd've thought we easterners would be higher on the list, but it appears not so. I have heard that in mid-Atlantic climates 5 years is not a concern. The issue is more critical in places like south Florida.

Just received a letter from MB USA stating that the remedy parts for both driver and passenger airbags are now available! Finally!

Contact your dealer and schedule an appointment, I am curious to find out if they indeed do have the parts, or if MB is just blowing some more smoke in our direction.,

ENTERING MY VIN TO MBUSA.COM CONFIRMS MY C250 IS INCLUDED WITHIN THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. ANYONE THINK OUR LOCAL (8 MILES AWAY) MB DEALER COULD SHED ANY NEW LIGHT?

Received my letter yesterday saying parts are ready (Atlanta,GA - 2009 C300), called my service adviser and she confirmed parts are in stock so put me on the books for next Thursday (8/17) to have both my airbags replaced. I'll report back once I get the work done as now almost 2 years after the recall I don't have the most faith.

Glad to hear the ice is starting to melt on this "frozen in time" gridlocked recall.

Mine's in the dealership right now for a different issue but I asked them and they said it's Stage 2 right now... meaning the next stage will be replacement. Service advisor said it'd be soon, I take that with a grain of salt. Got the letter in June 2017, I think the issue was discovered in Januarty 2017 or something. That's all I got from them so far.

I'm in Toronto. I first received a couple letters back in 2016 about the recall and that my car is affected. I haven't heard since.
I took my car in for service to my dealership and was inquiring about an update on it and for some reason they could not find such a recall in their system.
I called MB-Canada and they said that my dealership should have known, but because there is such a long back order on parts there hasn't been any updates since then.
They expect much of Canada to receive the parts towards the end of the year (parts are arriving in southern U.S. first and will be moving north) and I will be getting a letter when dealerships have the parts and are ready to perform the fix.

just got mines replaced. drivers and passenger. repair order says they pulled the dash forward to replace passenger airbag. i know for certain (from several pieces of evidence) the dash was never pulled forward. does anyone know if its possible to replace the passenger airbag from the bottom (through the glove box area)?
