OEM Xenon Headlight Projector Cloudy

New Asssembly - passenger side

Driver Side- old

I got into an accident. Passenger side was replaced with new headlight assembly. Problem is it does not match the driver side.

New has the "glass ball” look vs cloudy.

I replaced with new bulb. No change.

Q. Is a ballast issue or does the lens just get cloudy?

There should be a Yellow bar coded sticker on the back of the light housing that says as an example. AL~ Automotive lighting ~ Made in the Czech Republic. Are both of your units from the same plant?

When you talk about having your lens buffed are you talking about the outer lens or the Bix optical lens?

Yes, both from Automotive lightning. The color is also different which I presume is the ballast. I replaced with new bulb and no change.

I'll update with day pics, so the distinction is clear. Thanks.

You might be SOL on this unless your in for a fight with your insurance company or want to pay out of pocket for a new drivers side assembly. Optics and plastics change as they age so this is just a case of old versus new. Just like when regular old halogen headlight plastics craze over and you wreck one side, you will have one shiny and clear headlight while the other sits there all cloudy and crazed over.

Yeah, you're probably right.

I'll buy a new assembly. They are about $600 now. There are after market parts. Morrimoto has a lens replacement but I don't think it's a direct fitment.

Then there's the ballast which is probably going to be off as well.

Why I'll do this time is do the "clear bra" on with UV protection to help the plastics and avoid some of the road dings.
