2013 C300 4matic w204 transmission noise
I bought my c300 4matic not to long ago at the Mercedes dealership now I am noticing a noise coming from inside the cabin while the car is driving. When the car is stop I dont hear it. The noise is a whining or humming that in coming from the center or rear when I open my window while driving I cannot hear it but I can hear in within the cab. I look some research on the web and it has me narrow it down to a transmission problem, but my car drives smooth and shifts fine there is just a noise. I booked and appointment and the earliest they can get me in is Tuesday. I'm hoping it is not a transmission problem but if it is will Mercedes cover it cause I did buy it from them as a certified pre-owned and I've put less then 2000km on it since I bought it 2 months ago.

is this the first [online, reported] facelift 7G+ transfer case failure?
Hopefully not, but I had to go through it and it sucks, $5000.

A bad transmission mount caused the same noise/behaviour on my car. $20 later a new transmission mount and it was back to smooth as new. If your car is under warranty from the dealership, then it'll definitely be covered. Keep us posted.

Before any panic sets in, it may just be the pump in the trans and you starting to. Notice it more. The trans pump has a much more noticeable whine in the c300 than other cars.

Any updates on this Richard? I'm thinking of buying a 2013 as well. C300 4matic, 78,000 km. It drove really nicely, with no odd sounds, but the transmission issues in the W204s have me a bit spooked. How many kilometres on yours? I think it is only this post and maybe one other that seem to have any transfer case issues with the 7G Plus. This one would not be CPO either, which only elevates my concerns.

Transfer case, I pulled mine out myself and had a transmission shop install the beraing, bearing and seals were around 300$ and labour 200$, the expensive part is pulling the transmission out, its not that bad, took me 3 hours and 2 jacks. But yeh, dealer should be paying for everything.
