Secondary air pump issue AGAIN

UPDATE POST 14
Update with pictures post 29

so those who have had this issue I think i found the problem area but ill break down th price list from the STEALERSHIP.

fuse-$4.51
relay-$25
Secondary air pump -$1351.00

so today i hear the dreaded vacuums sucking squealing noise again. I thought great again, i looked at my fuse box under the hood.
pulled the relay first it fit very snug how it should the connectors looked good. I go to see the fuse it came out with zero effort/ i knew this was strange. again I put it in and pull it out its not fitting snug and probably keep popping out over bumps and causing the pump to over work and burn out.

now that i found the problem wtf can i do? a new fuse box probably costs thousands of dollars. I'm going to go buy a new fuse tomorrow and see if its just a one off fuse problem but i don't think this will fix the issue.

has anyone else had this happen? i may go to the junk yard website and source one out if need be.

I really don't know why you've been having so much bad luck with the SAI. I only have 60,000 km on my car and I've started it WAYYY more than most as I have a lot of short trips. I'm still on my original one!

I can't imagine the conditions you guys are in when one considers driving 60k km/37k miles on the original pump an accomplishment. I'm currently on 97k miles (157k km) on original equipment everything (even with a tuned engine).

I bet you my pump has had a lot more usage than yours. Mileage isn't everything.

i don't know but i want to solve the issue I'm going to the dealer at 11 to get a new fuse. i mean i drove 70,000KM in about 20 months but still i don't see a reason this would fail again. something else is up when i had warranty the dealer should of fixed it.

I have no idea what your driving style is, other than the fact you cover a LOT of ground. The SAI is only active when the engine is cold and only at the initial start. Because I haven't covered that much ground mileage wise, my SAI has had a lot of usage since most of my trips are within a 5-10 minute drive, and I have a few of these each day. I'm quite frankly surprised you've had so much grief, but I wonder if it's because your car is outside in the winter, and you do a lot of cold starts? Just thinking out loud...

I'm at ~70k miles now, car sits outside so I have the worst starts at -10°F weather all the time. Even the electronics are slow lol. However, I have had no issues from the cold as far as I know.

So I bought a new fuse. This morning the sound was awful turned the car off changed fuses the same **** happened.

I decided to play with the fuse and keep sliding it in and out I heard a small click. There's another 40 amp fuse in another slot I swamped those and heard it click in place.

I really hope that solves the issue because it finally clicked in .I'm not sure if it will work will see tomorrow morning on the cold start.

I'm sure it's my fuse box that's the issue. I wonder how much that costs if this doesn't fix the issue!

Update same noise.... fuse is in tight I'm sure the pump is already shot its a 50/50 hit if the sound will happen on cold start or not. this morning at +3 it didn't make the noise and this after noon at +12 the noise happened.

I called MB London.... and what a joke the manager told me if I don't like the service not to go there anymore. I don't see how a part replaced 2 years ago would go again... with no warranty.

apparently there policy is if you bought it i would of had warranty. since warranty paid for it its not covered again doesn't make sense to me.

I'm in contact with MB Canada about this matter... on a good note Pelican parts has the pump for $144USD and all the other bits adding up to about $600 if i need to get it replaced. Junk yards also have the pump for $80.

I might try this this weekend mine doesn't sound that bad but hey its free and worth a shot.

it seems like a common problem with mercedes some sort of carbon build up, i know my uncles been messing around with his smart car every month he needs to take the ERG valve and blow the build up off.

don't forget customs tax. It might be cheaper by a few bucks but $280 is defiantly the cheapest in canada. I priced out the whole system pump, left and right valve, and change over valve, relay and fuse total cost is $600 for a whole new system. I might change it all out if the left and right valve have carbon build up.

Next time if SAP goes bad again, which I hope not, search for BOSCH 0580000025 from rockauto.com.
You'll need to pay for shipping and Tax, but no brokerage fee and only pay GST at 5%.

$191 CAD all in and that is with shipping, tax and ebay's inflated Global Shipping BS import fees added. Sometimes ebay is way cheaper. Oxygen sensors for instance. I could not find the left and right change over valves cheap on there. Just the secondary air pump.

If it's just small / cheap items where it doesn't need warranty, I would buy it from cheapest place like ebay, but if it's little more sophisticate part that might require warranty, I would be hesitant purchasing from ebay.
Having said that, there are other legit vendors who sells parts at very reasonable price with warranty like rockauto.com. Also their shipping rate is very reasonable as well.

Why? Item is Bosch just like the MB version and any version you'd buy from an auto parts store and many ebay seller sells online also with a storefront. I would not be worried at all. With ebay buyers protection along with paypal, buying off ebay is pretty safe. I would not buy all parts off ebay but a secondary air pump I sure would.
