Urgent Help: 2013 c300 with 45k miles
hi guys,
This guy is selling his car for 16.5k in New Jersey.
VIN: WDDGF8AB7DR250466
2013 white/black
45k mules
No accidents
I drove it a short distance and I liked it.
He wants me to make a deal before EOD friday as he will be travelling.
Or I should wait 3 weeks
Engine - looks a bit dirty
Should I go ahead?
Engine picture attached. Looks a bit dirty for my taste but carfax is totally clean.

Very hard to tell by looking at 1 picture of engine bay. I recommend you taking it to a dealership or indy to do a pre purchase inspection. Its worth it as you do not want to be stuck with huge repair bills down the road.

I have called few dealers around here in North Jersey. They said only time they will diagnose anything is if there is warning light up.
They said they will just do visual inspection for free.
So, given clean carfax and low miles, I am thinking of going for it.

MB cars contain a lot of complicated and expensive systems to diagnose and repair. For example, the high-pressure fuel pump on this engine is known to fail and it's not cheap to replace.
If I were you, I would pay for a PPI before committing. Maybe if there are some problem with the car, you can get him to lower his price even further.

Congrats! Hopefully everything is functioning properly! Now its time to tune that 3.5 L V6 and be just as fast as a C350! I recommend using Kleemann! Plus they can tune in the exhaust crackle for you too!

Shoot an email to cory at sales@kleemannusa.com and you can ask him about the information. After the tune, your C300 will be faster than stock C350s because they share the same engine, and the C300 engine is software detuned.
I'm currently working with them to develop the exhaust crackles, as I still haven't fully gotten the crackle yet; it crackles a lot only when you rev it stationary. I'm sending in the ECU currently for them to test a different map on. Hopefully they succeed in making the crackles!
Edit: It costs 1295 USD and you can say I referred you!

I guess you can call it luck. I had it checked by the dealer. No codes, no issues.
I am thoroughly enjoying the car. so far I have driven about 2000 miles.
Thanks for your input

I would suggest a eurocharged tune. Similar gains, a bit cheaper, and do not need to remove/ship ecu, you can tune on the go with the handheld tuner.

MB vehicles are prone to be very Sensitive, ignoring those needed maintenance,
you are asking for troubles down the road, good luck.

The car looks great, congratulations.
You should replace the halogen headlights, to my opinion. The front of the car will look much better.
How did you clean the engine bay? Mine is very dirty but I am afraid to clean it because I've read stories about big issues after cleaning the engine bay.

Thanks Dol4er. I have already upgraded the headlights to DEPO projector. Waiting to install HID on them. Cleaning the engine bay was a long process. I used mostly wet cloth over the last few days. Spent about 30 minutes each over few days. I installed the engine air filter over the weekend which gave me access to a bit more of inside.
I didnt want to spray water or some other kind of cleaner blindly on the whole bay
I used 303 spray on the engine covers.
