I am trying to get front windshield tint, but i want it to be a little dark but not to the point where i have cops pulling me over. I currently have 20% on all my other windows and like i said i'm looking to do my front windshield. Any suggestions I was thinking 50% but i also don't want it to be super light. (waste of money) Suggestions? (For CLA)

Not sure about you but I prefer UV tint in the front and darker tint, around 20%, in the back. For me up here in Vancouver we are not allowed to tint the front windows. Besides, you won’t be able to see at night if you do tint the front windows.

There always is a bit of distortion when tinting the front or rear windshields...so I wouldn’t recommend making the front too dark. Consider getting ceramic for good heat rejection with lighter tints.

I personally wouldn’t tint the front windshield because of risk of getting hit by rocks and needing replacement.

50 would be a waste i would go 35. Any darker you wont be able to see at night.

I had the Crystaline 3M film on my front Window of a GLI I used to have. It was essentially clear but blocked UV/heat really well. I didn't want to get it at first but the installer had talked me into it. A few years later I got pulled over and ticketed for having it on the front window.

I don't think the officer noticed it on the front until after the stop. My other windows were all within legal limits.

I went back to the shop that sold me the tint as they said they would take care of me if there were any problems. Turns out they sold the business to someone else a few weeks after doing my job.
