Feathered tires

I have some feathering on my tires. My mechanic moved them to the back and did an alignment. My question is, can I safely do highway driving with my ires in this condition?

Unless the tires are severely unevenly worn I would think you would be fine. Unless your mechanic is totally incompetent I would doubt he would have moved the tires in the first place and let you drive with them if the condition was so bad. He would have/should have said something if they would be unsafe.
