I actually enjoyed the snow and with some sense at hand never had an issue or lost confidence, only get a couple to few inches at a time where I'm at though. I'm a little south of you OP. But at the time I was running my Cooper RS3-G1's which did surprisingly well in my book. Have the same as Adi now so this winter will let me see if I want to go back to my Coopers.

Only time I ever got stuck in the snow in my C300 was when the snow was up above my fog lights...Beast as long as your tires are good

Tires are the key. You have a set of good all season tires that aren't too worn and the car is very confidence inspiring in the snow. You can almost floor it from a stop on a snow covered road and it accelerates away with no or little wheelspin and in a straight line almost like it was dry out. This part winter I needed tires and got the Continental DWS06 tires as well and was very pleased.. With the electronic aids of stability control and traction control, along with the decent tires and the AWB you can pretty much get through anything. Keep in mind though that AWD does nothing to helping you stop. If you use your head, these can be great winter cars. Can only imagine what they would be like with dedicated snow tires. I am just too lazy too spend the money and change them out twice a year.

Thanks for the info! I saw the DWS tires, and I saw these too, General GMAX AS-05 https://www.discounttiredirect.com/b...rProduct/34792 not sure how they would be, saw some decent reviews and the treadwear is 500

Dedicated winters can reduce mpg even more.
