Extended Warranty is coming to an end. What to check?
Hi,
My 2012 C300 has a 7Y extended warranty that will expire in about 40 days. I plan to take the car to the 70,000 (7 year) maintenance before the warranty expires. Anything that I should specifically ask the dealer to check? Will the check cost extra?
The car currently has 65,000 miles in it. It had some problems in the past, including:
- an oil leak around the time of 3 year
- a complete replacement of transmission at 4.5 year
- a replacement of center speaker at 6 year
- a couple of smaller problems that incurred "engine check" yellow signs at 3 and 4.5 year
There has been no problem since the last maintenance (10 months ago).
I thought about trading it in for a new C but eventually gave up the idea. I just can't find a way to like the pop-up display. I prefer to hold on the car for at least one more year until the W206 comes out (likely in Sep 2019), so I would like to make sure that any fixes covered by the extended warranty will be fixed before the warranty expires.
Any response and help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

I had my fluids analised, it passed I decided to keep the car without gurantee, bought another one in case to travel gravel roads, so far I could have bought 2 engines or one gearbox for money of a further extended guarantee, replaced the 3x pulles/belt.
Your car:
Oil leaks
Pulleys
Alternator
Aircon
Steering & bushes etc
Steering lock
Brake rotors
Drive shaft
Foot hand brake

Thanks for the suggestion.
The 7-year maintenance (65,000 miles on meter) was just done. I mentioned the expiration of ELW and asked the dealership to check some extra, but they seemed to play it lightly, saying that all safety-related items would be checked. They did fix two issues (with replacements) that are covered by ELW:
- Engine mounts are worn
- Noise from front stabilizer end links
The service charge without a prepaid package, as expected, was like a rip off. Service A cost $300.
They also recommended two items that I didn't go for, as the "advisor" said the issues aren't serious:
- Clean up engine oil injection (not sure I got it right)
- Clean up engine heating/cooling system
I plan to keep the car at least until the new W206 model comes out. Should I be worried about these two issues?
Thanks again!

Ps I'm in the exact same boat as you! Same car, year and warranty stage too!

Is the pop-up display the screen centered high on the front dash - - - and looks like an afterthought? Does it "pop-up" (or retract out of sight?)
