So, a common issue that I've seen with our cars is that the paint on the window switch buttons will chip away. I guess I am OCD, but it bugs the hell out of me. You can certainly use touchup paint or put decals over it, but I found a better and classier solution. Got these button covers on ebay for $47 and they worked out awesome. The fitment was perfect and it was very easy to install. The best part is that the illumination still works with the covers. Comes with covers for all 4 doors. Only flaw with the kit is that the trunk button covers in the kit didn't match my trunk button.
The only thing I have noticed with these is on mine if you try to roll both front windows or both rear windows down simultaneously they can interfere. But that may just be due to my installation which looks fine but may be just a hair off.
One thing I did due since the sticky back was a little weak for my taste is I used model no haze glue for windows and clear pieces to ensure long time fitment and not having any pop off. They do slightly hook the buttons so if your not careful someone could just pull them right off in my opinion.
They almost don't stick up at all. They are are about as flushed as you can hope for.
Good to know, thanks! I wonder how they’ll look with my aluminum trim. I’m going to tackle replacing the turn signal led’s in my taillights from red to amber. I might get these when I’m done.

I liked your post about the fix for chipping buttons and my two window buttons and radio on off button in my 2015 SL400 buttons need replaced or fixed but I can't see that any of the solutions on ebay clearly indicate they are designed for my year and model.
Any suggestions for would be appreciated.

Sorry, I don't own an SL400, so I haven't done any research if the buttons are the same. The buttons are very inexpensive from Aliexpress. I recommend you purchase some that looks similar from there and see if they work. Worst case, you're out $10, but it looks similar enough. Your other option is replace the whole button assembly, they are inexpensive as well from what I can tell.
