7G-tronic plus ATF change coming up
I own a 2014 C-Class that has the 7G-Tronic plus (start/stop) transmission which uses the 236.15 blue ATF fluid.
I'm approaching the first scheduled ATF change at 70K miles, which is part of the normal 10K "A" service.
I take my car to an independent MB mechanic rather than the local dealer.
My understanding is that the transmission service normally consists of dropping the pan, replacing the equivalent amount of fluid that is drained and replacing the filter. A flush is not done. Is this correct?
One other question, what can I expect the cost will be for just the ATF change?
I've seen a wide range for this service, from $295 to over $800 at a dealership.
Thanks for any information.

No, flushes are not done. They simply drain the fluid and refill.

A flush of the TC is needed for piece of mind.

C300 4matic
I just had mine done, I have a 2011 C300 4matic. The dealer quoted $880 because I wanted the torque converter drain as well. The converter holds 4 quarts of ATF fluid and the pan holds 5 quarts. So what I did I found an independent shop. I supplied all the parts, I purchased a kit from ECS Tuning, and they supplied the labor. The whole cost was $489 including parts.
I thought I read some where because of the start stop the torque converter can not be serviced, but I would check with someone on the forum. Or do a you tube search.

I don't think we're all on the same page here. A flush is not the same as a drain and fill, although if one is very insistent on a "flush", the safest way to do this would be to do 2x drain and fill.
It is not a wise idea to do an old school "flush". Period.
