Roof Wrap - sharkfin antenna, headliner
Whats up all!
I’m trying to vinyl wrap my wife’s white C250 roof in gloss black. I was able to remove the sharkfin via the rear dome light using a T20 socket but it has 2 wires soldered to the circuit board on the underside that I can’t disconnect. I was able to follow the wires through the headliner towards the passenger side C pillar but that’s as far as I got.
Does anyone know the exact path where these wires route back to so I can unplug them? I assume they go to an antenna amplifier or somewhere into the trunk but dunno for sure. I definitely appreciate any directions or tips on how to remove the headliner/c pillar covers without breaking clips and any info on where to disconnect the sharkfin cables.
I could really use the help as I already ruined the first vinyl cutting a slit that ripped trying to go over the mounted sharkfin. A buddy said to cut the wires and solder them back together but I’m reluctant cus I dont what kind of cable those are and if that will introduce static or not perform as it originally was. He thinks I’m making it more complicated than need be. Would that be okay splicing those cables together? I prefer not to cut any wires and do it the right way.
Thanks in advance.

I just lifted the rubber part, cut a slit and slid it through. Made some more cuts. Then placed rubber over it, and you can no longer see the trimmed edges. Frankly I didn't do the best job on the wrap overall but that part is ok.
Also make sure you remove the roof rails.

Anyone know where the wires disconnect at? Or how to remove the interior liners without breaking clips?

same here. I replaced my shark antenna and it comes with 3 wires, but no idea how to safely drop the headliner to follow those to the connections. bought a set of the plastic tools for interior parts removals but not sure where to start and don't want to demo the headliner.
