W204 C300 4Matic: 245/40/18 - NO RUBBING!!!
So I found a sick deal and really couldn't pass it up, but after reading every single post ever, everyone says that 245/40/18 on a square setup would rub at the front on a 2012 C300 4Matic Sport. I also thought this would be the case as the 4Matic Sport models actually sit a bit lower so it could be the case.
After installing these, I took a few rips around my area, took them off, marked the parts of the tire with some red marks, and went for another spin. Driving was done on city roads and a bit of highway, and of course full lock turns. Took the wheels off again, and there was no rubbing on the tires, or on the suspension cover at all.
What is this sick deal? Paid $500CAD for new 10/32nd Conti Procontact and New Genuine AMG rims.
I will be following up again later this week just in case, but so far so good.
Here is the before and After setups.
Stock Setup:
225/45/17 Offset 47
245/40/17 Offset 58
New Setup:
245/40/18 Offset 48
Square all around

Nice deal. You have a slightly higher offset so maybe it balances it out.
I have 235 in the front with 19's and I don't rub, 42 offset.

Yep $500 for wheels and tires! It was an insane deal. That's also in Canadian, probably like $100 in USD ahhahah.
But Update:
Looks like we might have some rubbing under highspeed load. So if you are going 100+ and hit a big dip, when the car compresses you will hear a bit of rubbing, but not much.
Will be taking the wheels off to check the tires to make sure it's not excessive and post pictures later.
