Questions about A1 service (87k) and parts

My 2012 c300 has 87,000 miles on it and was bugging me about having the A1 service performed. I have never looked up the checklist of what's performed for this service interval. I took it to the dealer where I bought it, which isn't a mercedes dealership, but they're certified to work on the cars and are a lot cheaper than an actual mercedes dealership. Anyway, they performed an oil change, checked fluids and topped them off, cleared the message from the CPU etc, but while I was there they also told me that a transmission service (fluid and filter change) as well as spark plug replacement was part of this service, and now that I'm doing some searches on google, I'm not seeing a transmission fluid change and new plugs as part of this service? So were they lying to me or what? I honestly can't see why the trans fluid and spark plugs would need to be replaced at only 87,000 miles. Or is that really recommended at that mileage for this car?

My other question is this...

What needs replaced on this car and when? Which parts have a tendency to fail at which mileage? What should I be looking to replace soon? I used to have a 2001 BMW 3 series and I knew exactly which parts needed replaced on that car when I bought it and which ones were most likely to fail, but I'm clueless with this car and I don't know what I should be replacing at what mileage. I don't just want to wait until they fail. Can someone offer some advice?

A1 service is for the very first service from brand new. So terminology A1 Service isn't applicable for your car at this time.
If you bought the car used and never done transmission fluid service, I strongly suggest to do it at 87k miles.
As for the spark plug, scheduled replacement is 91k miles or 5 year. But then, this can hold off if your car performs as your expectation.

My advice is to read the car's Service Manual booklet. If you don't have a copy, you can download the PDF version from MBUSA. On the M276 (6 cyl) requires spark plug change at 60,000 miles and the transmission serviced at the recommended interval. In addition, the brake fluid flush is recommended every 24 months (not mileage)
