Hi everybody I’m after some help my Mercedes Benz w204 2.1 (right side) lights keep coming on when my engine car is shut off and I’ve had to pull the bulbs out before they burn out or even catch fire any advice please thanks ..

Hi there, I had the same issue, but with the left side. Only when the switch in the "off" setting.
Try using the "automatic setting" and see if it happens again.
I ended up replacing the headlight switch.

ok then Its going in for a diagnostics test today I’ll see what come on the laptop and keep you updated but I’ll bear that in mind what year is your car? Cheers

Strange isit it ive bought a new cluster and connector block off eBay as my old one is burnt it maybe that causing the other faults I’m hoping.
Im also having issues with my acceleration it hesitates when drive not all the time I’ve replaced the map sensor and fuel temperature sensor any ideas ???

hiya mate.
I’ve Ben recently having trouble with my electrics on my car rear lights front lights ect coming on when car all locked up randomly.
Ive has all sorts of code say malfunction and compas module wth is that I’ll upload pics now

Okay so what is happening is with headlights off very small amount of electricity is tracking across the grease between the off and live terminals inside of the headlight switch, and when there is enough voltage build up it is enough to trigger lights On momentarily but not enough to sustain the light so they turn off.
The fix is either replace the headlight switch or leave it in the Auto position.

ok thanks a lot I really do appreciate it I’ve had to take the bulbs out but I’ll leave it in the A position and put them back in it won’t drain anything bein in the A position will it ? I’ve had some codes come back to

Yes no drain or flickering lights in the Auto position, consider it a Permeant long term repair no need to spend any money.
I dont know about codes I have no way of checking my car either way dont be concerned with them and next time you are in the shop have the codes all cleared.

it’s both my sam modules front ant rear that have codes.

MY W204 diesel car is jerking when under acceleration I have had my injector seal changed due to chuffing I’m hoping it air in the system.

Can anyone help me i have w204 C class and my Radiator Fan comes on and stays on until I turn the key off had anyone experienced this before if so what was it ?

Hi, did you manage to find the problem with this. I have the same issue along with the Fan running constantly when the engine is on
