Headlight switch question

I have a 2009 c300 with the headlight switch going bad (intermittently turning headlights off at night while driving, turning on in bright daylight and also constant on/off cycles in bright daylight)

I am wondering if it is possible to replace the standard switch (turn off automatic, turn on headlights, pull back for fog lights) to a European assembly which has the fog lamp wired up as a separate button on the left (accessible in auto) or if something in STAR would prevent this?

Or replace the OEM switch like I did on my 09 C300 4matic and see if that cures the problem.

thats the plan but I am wondering about swapping for the euro model so I don't have to turn the knob off of automatic just to turn on my fog lamps

Yes, you have a point there...connectors would need some modifying or no ?

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. Officially, they have all of the same functions, just the fog lights are remapped to a different place. The unit is the exact same so I would imagine the harness is also. But I am unsure. Guess I'll experiment and get back to everyone on this
