is $8000 a lot of damage for a bmw c300

hey, was looking to buy a car, and this carfax report said this 2015 c300 had a $8000 insurance claim(also in 2015), but it didn't say what it was. just wondering if $8000 is significant damage on a bmw c300

thanks

edit. meant Mercedes. don't know how to edit post title

What is a "BMW" C300? Don't you mean Mercedes? Is the $8K of damage from trying to convert a Mercedes Benz C300 to a BMW?

$8K in damage would probably have been fairly significant, but it would depend just what was damaged. Was it a lot of cosmetic damage or some kind of structural damage? The car could have been considered a total loss with that much damage, but it would depend on the year and value of the car. By that I mean, $8K on a car worth $10K is very significant and the car would be totaled by teh insurance company. $8K on a car worh $25K is still a lot, but might be worth fixing. Impossible to say without knowing just what happened to it..

8000$ can be both head lights so you should dig deep to what the claim exactly was. Lol

This is the W204 forum section by the way. The 2015 C300 is a W205.

To be fair to first timers on here, in the forums page for the W204 it says 2008 to present. Not sure why that is, but it should be corrected by the moderators to avoid this kind of confusion.
