2011 C220 auto gearbox COLD CLUNKING from neatral to drive
.Hi folks. So;
Does anyone have any idea why my 2011 C220 5auto 135k gearbox sometimes CLUNKS really violently from Neutral into Drive while cold?
Transmission oil replaced twice (I hope), 30k miles last. Once warm, smooth, nothing.
While COLD; Holding in Drive stationary, not using Neutral, seems to give me zero torque pull away... Like torque converter isn’t converting. At all.
Once ENGINE WARM; select Drive from Neutral, smooth, can always light tyres/dashboard with enough torques...I don’t but can.
What’s up with the gearbox ‘logic’? Is it; electronic/temperature related/fluid? Gearbox being sympathetic to engine temperature??
Any ideas?
Cheers!
Alex
*neatral was a blunder!
