2011 C300 4MATIC Sport
W204 navigation pop up display button
I just bought a 2011 C300 with the Comand navigation and I'm really enjoying the car. I think I have most of the options figured out, except the pop up display for the navigation/audio system has a button on the back of it that you can see when it is closed and retracted into the dash. I'm not sure what it does. When I push the button it does nothing even when the car is running. The user manual doesn't really mention the button either. The display opens up when I turn the system on and everything seems to function as it should. Does anyone know what the button is for?

I just tried my 2011. When the display is closed. press this rectangular shaped button, the display will come out even with no key in the ignition. Once open this button does nothing.

It is not a very useful button. The main round button controls the display open and close, plus it also controls the volume. I played with the lid button a few times after I bought the car eight years ago, and never touched it afterwards.
